Most
people are aware that outdoor air pollution can
damage their health but may not know that indoor
air pollution can also have significant harmful
effects. US Environmental Protection Agency
studies of human exposure to air pollutants
indicate that indoor levels of many pollutants
may be 200%-500% higher than outdoor levels.
Allergic reactions may be the most common health
problem with indoor air quality in homes. They
are often connected with animal dander, dust
mites and pollen. Asthma is also agitated by the
presence of indoor air pollution.
